In a letter to Defense Secretary Mark Esper, Senator Ted Cruz accused the United States Defense Department of engaging in religious discrimination, asking the Secretary how the department planned to address its “culture of hostility towards religion.” This letter comes as a follow up on the DOD’s failure to respond to a letter sent from Sen. Cruz in June of this year.

In a one sentence order last Friday, the U.S. Supreme Court refused to enjoin the enforcement of Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak’s Directive 021 limiting church attendance to 50 people while a lower court ruling adverse to Calvary Chapel Dayton Valley is being appealed. Chief Justice John Roberts joined the four more liberal judges in refusing to hear the matter.

The city council of East Mountain, Texas agreed to an ordinance prohibiting abortion within city limits in a 3-0 vote with 2 abstentions, making it the 14th city in the state to declare itself a “sanctuary of the unborn.” Another Texas town, Waskom was the first to pass such an ordinance in June of last year. Since then, several other towns in Texas have followed their lead.
