The Rule of Law Life Act (SB 1780) was officially filed by Sen. Janice Bowling in the Tennessee General Assembly on National Sanctity of Human Life Day, Wednesday, January 22, 2020.

During the Summer Study for SB 1236 before the Senate Judiciary Committee, FACT made its argument for attacking Roe v. Wade based on the fact that, under the Ninth Amendment, common law rights were “retained by the people” and one of those rights was the right of the people to recognize the various legal rights belonging to a “child in the mother’s womb.”

The Senate Judiciary Committee asked FACT’s president, a lawyer, for a bill with stronger language based on that argument. The Rule of Law Life Act is the product of that request. FACT and its president, David Fowler, fully endorse this bill.

The bill will be filed in the House in the coming days. Read more about this bill by visiting the Rule of Law Life Act page.
